MAC COSMETICS MAGIC OF THE NIGHT IN EXTRA DIMENSION SKINFINISH IN OH,DARLING AND SHAFT OF GOLD: REVIEW AND SWATCHES

Hi!

That's it people, no more bans for the C word, it's totally that most wonderful time of the year (singing, aren't you?), Christmas!!!!

Every single make up brand has come out with its own festive collection and of course, Mac is one of the most waited for.

I started seeing sneakpeeks of the "Magic of the Night" collection probably..mm..let me think...in JULY!!!!

All the eyes where on the highlighters.

Every year, in the Christmas and in the Summer collections usually, Mac throws in some highlighters that sold out in a blink.

This year, it was not different.

We are talking about the In Extra Dimension Skinfinish, available in two shades, "Oh, darling" and "Shaft of gold".

As soon as the collection went online (normally a week before the in store launch), they were sold out in a matters of minutes.

Good job I decided to use the Selfridge's Personal Shopping Service, that secured me "Oh, darling", whilst I happened to be in town nearby House of Fraser very early the day the collection hit the stores (5th November, oh yes, the infamous day the Balmain for H&M was launched, what do you think I was doing that early in town??).

Anyway, here we go, both in my hands in their full gorgeousness (does this word actually exist?).

I see why everybody goes mad about these.

The powder is finally melted so it doesn't result to be too glittery or chalky and blends beautifully.

What makes these two so special?

Well, the swatches don't really make them justice.

The metallic finish really gives ultra dimension to any contouring/ strobing you are working onto your face.

You can use both as a wash colour on the lids too, with black mascara and a black windged liner to finish.

"Oh, Darling" is a pure gold shade.

"Shaft of gold" is more a salmon pink/beige shade.

I normally use a tapered highlighter brush as the F35 Sigma one   to apply it the top of my cheekbones and up towards the temples, but not on the nose, I just find all that shine is too much.

The lasting effect is another positive note.
Both the shades have behaved very well, I am talking about 7/8 hours of good wear without fading or melting.

The only way to purchase the In Extra Dimension Skinfinish is online on ebay or private blog sale.
If you want to have a look to the rest of the collection, you can find it here
